Comedy Central confirms Futurama Reboot

Comedy Central has confirmed that it has ordered 26 brand new episodes of the cancelled cartoon hit “Futurama”. According to reports, creators David X. Cohen and Matt Groening are working on stories for the new episodes, due to air mid- 2010.
Gary Newman, the chairman of 20th TV, said: “When we brought back ‘Family Guy’ several years ago, everyone said that it was a once in a lifetime thing — that canceled series stay canceled and cannot be revived.”
He then added that, “‘Futurama’ was another series that fans simply demanded we bring back.” Comedy Central obtained all 72 Futurama episodes and four specials from Fox in 2006. The new episodes will mark 7 years since Futurama was taken off the air.
